In 1997 I was a passenger in a near fatal car accident. It took me 18 months to recover from the accident and I was left with a permanent injury. My doctor said I wouldn’t be able to follow my dad’s footsteps as I’d been planning to – and become a carpenter. This crushed me. I was forced to look elsewhere. Like most 20 year olds, I really didn’t have a back-up plan. During my recovery, I began speaking to my Uncle about business and the markets. He ignited my interest in the stock market and helped open my first account and make my first trade. As luck would have it, I ended up making some money. From then on, I became interested in reading everything I could about the stock market and investing. So much so, that I decided to make financial planning my new career pursuit. Today I work with Clients to provide comprehensive advice. Not only do I give advice about investments but also in all facets of their financial lives. I do this because to achieve financial peace of mind you need to address more than just investments. This is why I also explore how insurance can support and enhance Client’s financial plans. When it comes to insurance, think of the impact it has on others. You aren’t buying it for you, you are buying it for your spouse or children. I advocate for proper planning and have seen the impact a comprehensive financial plan can have on people’s lives. I enjoy getting to know Clients’ unique situation. It makes me happy to share the knowledge that I have built up over the past 20+ years of investing and working in the financial services field. I enjoy giving Clients a backup plan, as I know the real value of one. Just ask 20 year old me.
