As the Vancouver Island Construction Association (VICA), we serve the construction community based on Vancouver Island, the Gulf islands and Powell River. Our members are the institutional, commercial, industrial, and multi-residential builders, trades, architects, engineers and designers along with the manufacturers and suppliers that support them. Our work revolves around supporting the industrial and commercial builders by: Fostering growth, economic stability, and prosperity in the construction industry - Promoting a greater understanding of the construction industry among policy and decision makers (advocacy) - Promote operational excellence - Promote and foster fair, open, transparent and ethical practices within the construction community - Supporting labour training and building the labour supply in the region. We do this by: Connecting with local, provincial and federal government representatives to bring forward the issues and concerns of our members - Bringing our members together for networking sessions of various types, connecting members with decision makers and providing information sessions on topics that matter to the industry - We provide key education for our members of all ages and backgrounds, for youth looking to enter the industry and for other key individuals where knowledge around construction practices and management are important - We provide key benefits for member companies of all sizes specifically designed for businesses in the construction industry. We have offices and staff both in Victoria and Nanaimo to serve our membership .
